City services information for Victoria Day, May 22

NEWS @ A GLANCE:
On Victoria Day, Monday, May 22, City services will be scheduled as follows:
- Recycling and garbage will not be collected on Victoria Day, Monday, May 22, 2006 (for homes on the 5 day collection calendar for garbage and recycling). Collection for all others will continue as normally scheduled.
- Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

MEDIA RELEASE:
WINNIPEG - May 18, 2006 - All civic offices will be closed on Monday, May 22nd.
Additional information on city services is provided below.
Community Services
Libraries:
All Libraries are open 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20. Millennium, Sir William Stephenson and St. Boniface Library are open 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday May 21. All Libraries are closed Monday, May 22.
Zoo:
Open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
Conservatory:
Open 9:00 am. - 8:00 pm. daily.
Swimming Pools:
Regular hours of operation are in effect for all pools on Saturday May 20 & Sunday May 21. Please see the Leisure Guide or visit our web site for pool schedules at Winnipeg.ca. All pools are closed on Monday May 22 except Pan Am Pool. Pan Am Pool is open 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Leisure Centres:
Regular hours of operation are in effect on Saturday May 20 & Sunday May 21. Please see the Leisure Guide or visit our Web site for Leisure Centre schedules at Winnipeg.ca. All Leisure Centres are closed on Monday May 22.
Water and Waste Department
Recycling and garbage will not be collected on Victoria Day, Monday, May 22, 2005. Collection will resume on Tuesday, May 23, 2005 - Day 4 on the five-day cycle.
This affects only those homes on the 5 day collection calendar for garbage and recycling. Collection for all others (i.e., apartments) will continue as normally scheduled.

Hours of operation for the Brady Road Landfill during the holiday weekend:
Saturday, May 20 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sunday, May 21 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday, May 22 6:00 am - 6:00 pm
