City services information for May 23, 2005

WINNIPEG - May 19, 2005 - All civic offices will be closed on Monday, May 23rd.
Additional information on city services is provided below.

Community Services

Libraries:
All Libraries are open 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. Henderson, Pembina Trail, St. Boniface, St. James, and Sir William Stephenson Libraries are open on Sunday May 22 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. All Libraries are closed Monday, May 23.

Zoo:
Open 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. daily.

Conservatory:
Open 9:00 am. – 8:00 pm. daily.

Swimming Pools:
Regular hours of operation are in effect for all pools on Saturday May 21 & Sunday May 22. Please see the Leisure Guide or visit our Web site for pool schedules at Winnipeg.ca. All pools are closed on Monday May 23 except Pan Am Pool. Pan Am Pool is open 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Leisure Centres:
Regular hours of operation are in effect on Saturday May 21 & Sunday May 22. Please see the Leisure Guide or visit our Web site for Leisure Centre schedules at Winnipeg.ca. All Leisure Centres are closed on Monday May 23.

Water and Waste Department

Recycling and garbage will not be collected on Victoria Day, Monday, May 23, 2005. Collection will resume on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 – Day 5 on the five-day cycle.

This affects only those homes on the 5 day collection calendar for garbage and recycling. Collection for all others (i.e., apartments) will continue as normally scheduled.

Hours of operation for the Brady Road Landfill during the holiday weekend:
Saturday, May 21 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Sunday, May 22 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Monday, May 23 6:00 am – 6:00 pm

On Monday May 23, (Victoria Day) Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.
