WINNIPEG - APRIL 15, 2005 - As a result of a Councillor vacancy in the St. Norbert Ward of The City of Winnipeg (Riel Community), a By-Election was convened on Thursday, April 14, 2005 to elect a Councillor Representative for the remainder of the 2002 – 2006 term.

The results of the By-Election are as follows:

The City of Winnipeg again utilized automated voting to accept ballots and tabulate the results. Results were reported within 50 minutes of the closing of the polls.

In total, 6,137 electors cast their ballot resulting in a voter turnout of 21.72% for the 2005 St. Norbert Ward By-Election.
