WINNIPEG - APRIL 01, 2005 - Residents needing to protect their property against snowmelt runoff can pick up sandbags Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the following four locations:

• 1220 Pacific Avenue
• 849 Ravelstone Avenue
• 590 St. Anne’s Road
• 1539 Waverley Street

Anyone picking up sandbags will be required to show some identification to demonstrate that they are residents of Winnipeg.

Areas that can experience some level of overland flooding are typically adjacent to large fields, agricultural lands, and areas with drainage ditches.

The City prepares sandbags each spring for those residents that need to protect their property from snowmelt runoff.
