Organics diversion strategy

Organics diversion programs will be necessary to reach our waste diversion rate goal of 50% or more. Organics make up approximately 40% of Winnipeg's residential waste stream.

The City has hired a consultant (Bid Opportunity No. 1055-2014) to develop an Organics Diversion Strategy, which will identify a framework and potential options to manage all types of organic material that arrive at the Brady Road Resource Management Facility.

For more information and updates on the Organics Diversion Strategy, visit our public engagement website.
