Current update
The Province of Manitoba released its February Flood Outlook Report on March 1, 2024. It predicts:
- The Red River has a low to moderate risk of flooding
- The Assiniboine River has a low risk of flooding
Weather conditions, like precipitation or temperature changes, may change this flood risk.

Types of flooding
Basement and overland flooding
Basement flooding happens when wastewater enters your home through your sewer lines. Overland flooding happens when water enters your home through the outside walls.
River flooding
River flooding happens when river levels rise above the riverbanks and the overflowing water causes damage to your property.
