Military Monument Refurbishment Program

The Brookside Cemetery Field of Honour is one of the largest Military Field of Honours in Canada, with over 11,000 Veterans interred.

Since 2008, the City of Winnipeg has worked with Veterans Affairs Canada on a Military Monument Refurbishment Program. The project ended in 2022 with over 4,600 refurbished military monuments and over 30,000 feet of precast beam foundations being repaired or replaced.

In 2023, landscaping and minor repairs will be finished, bringing all aspects of the program to a close.
