Tuesday, January 18, 2022 – Snow clearing operations are in progress. Crews are clearing P1 streets, as well as sidewalks and AT paths based on the priority system. Motorists are reminded to drive to conditions and stay back from heavy equipment working.
Ice control activities, including salting and sanding, are undertaken city-wide to improve traction on roadways as conditions warrant on bridge decks and overpasses, as well as P1, P2 and P3 streets as required.
Snow clearing status map
Note: A major plowing operation is triggered when snow accumulation is 5 cm or more.
Please note: Winnipeg's street system is cleared based on a priority system. Completion percentages during a major snow clearing operation (P1 & P2) are based on updates provided twice daily – at approximately 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. – not in real time. In periods of sustained snow spanning several hours or days, especially combined with periods of high winds, crews may return to do more work in an area previously marked as completed, and the completion percentage would change accordingly.
During a residential plowing operation (P3), the map will be updated twice daily at approximately 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Reporting missed streets
Report a missed street that hasn't been plowed only after that area on the map has been marked as "Complete", which indicates that crews have completed major plowing operations in the area. During a residential plowing operation (P3), if a residential street was not cleared as scheduled, crews will return to address it once plowing has been completed city-wide.
You can also report a plugged segment due to drifting snow, as occasionally a street, sidewalk or pathway segment, that has been cleared and marked as complete, may require additional plowing due to high winds in areas prone to drifting snow.
Report slippery conditions on streets, sidewalks or pathways and indicate whether conditions affect pedestrian, vehicular, wheelchair or bicycle traffic.
