Medic – Update: C17-154784

The victim has now been identified.

As previously released:

On July 14, 2017, at approximately 1:40 a.m., emergency services personnel responded to the intersection of Main Street and Polson Avenue for a report of an injured/unresponsive female located in the roadway.

The female was transported to a hospital where she remains in critical, but stable condition. The mechanism of injury is unknown at this time, but the preliminary evidence does not suggest a motor vehicle collision.

Investigators have not been able to ascertain the identity of the victim. She is described as Indigenous in appearance, approximately 25-years-of-age. 5’2” in height, slim build, with wavy brown coloured hair in a bun. In addition the victim has ‘Marcus’ tattooed in script on her left inner forearm.

Robbery – Investigation: C17-155612


The outstanding vehicle has now been recovered.


On July 15, 2017, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Winnipeg Police General Patrol units responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred in the area of Grosvenor Street and Wentworth Avenue.

The victim, a male in his seventies, was working in the area at the time. He was confronted by two male suspects who demanded his personal property. During the confrontation the victim was assaulted with a weapon and received a serious head wound.

The victim’s property, as well as his vehicle were stolen. The vehicle is described as a 2009 Dodge Caravan, light grey in colour, with Manitoba licence HGK 236. This vehicle has not been located.

The victim was treated in hospital and is in stable condition. The suspects are described as follows:

 - Suspect #1: Caucasian male, late teens with a stocky build.

 - Suspect #2: Caucasian male, late teens with a thinner build.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
