The Winnipeg Police Service faced a number of serious and violent incidents last night that we will review in part right now.  These incidents tied up a significant number of officers as they dealt with risks to our community, and the safety of families. As a result, for much of the evening, more than 100 calls were waiting for service that we just couldn’t get to.  Despite the violence, due to the response, and tactics employed, our members were able to resolve the situation with no harm to themselves, or members of the public.
