Update – Homicide Investigation – Male Arrested – C15-268849

As previously released -On December 22, 2015, at approximately 9:00 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1100 block of Beauty Avenue for the report of a serious assault.
   
Two males were located suffering from stab wounds to the upper body.  Both were transported to hospital however, a 45-year-old male, identified as Hector Lee SINCLAIR, later succumbed to his injuries.
   
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
   
A warrant of arrest for 2nd Degree Murder was issued for 32-year-old Colin Leonard TRAVERSE and on January 5th the public’s assistance was requested in locating him.
   
On January 6th at approximately 7:30 p.m. TRAVERSE turned himself in to Police.
   
He was processed on the warrant and later detained in custody.

Assault With A Weapon Investigation – C16-4180

On January 6, 2015, shortly before midnight, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 500 block of William Avenue for the report of an injured male.
   
A 45-year-old male was located suffering serious injury to the upper body as a result of an apparent assault.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he remains at this time.
   
It is believed that the victim was assaulted by a group of individuals.  He was later located by a passer-by who contacted police.
   
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).

Sudden Death Investigation – C16-4251

On January 7, 2015, shortly before 3:30 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the St. Vital Bridge near Osborne Street and Dunkirk Drive for the report of an injured male on the river.

Responding personnel located a 24-year-old-male on the ice, suffering from apparent injuries sustained after falling from the bridge.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.  

His name will not be released.
