Please note that our social media accounts are NOT monitored 24-7 and we cannot accept crime reports or tips via Twitter.  If you require assistance, please call 911 (in an emergency situation) or our complaint line at 204-986-6222.

Report a crime
If you wish to report an incident, you must attend IN PERSON to a Police Station or Community Service Centre or call 204-986-6222 for more information.

If this is an emergency, call 9-1-1
The Winnipeg Police Service does not accept reports of crime via e-mail or Twitter.

@Replies and Direct Messages
We welcome feedback from our followers and we try to join the conversation where possible; however, we are not able to reply to all the messages we receive via Twitter. All @replies and Direct Messages will be reviewed and any emerging issues or helpful suggestions will be sent to the appropriate program/service area in the Winnipeg Police Service. Please note that we will not participate in any dialogue on politics or political decisions or questions that are:

  • contrary to the principles of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
  • racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, insulting, or life-threatening messages
  • serious, unproven, unsupported, or inaccurate accusations against individuals or organizations
  • abusive, aggressive, coarse, explicit, vulgar, violent, obscene, or pornographic comments
  • comments that encourage or suggest illegal activity
  • messages where the sender is not the author (nor the copyright holder if applicable)
  • solicitations, advertisements, or endorsements of any financial, commercial or non-governmental agency. Similarly, we do not allow attempts to defame or defraud any financial, commercial or non-governmental agency
  • announcements from labour or political organizations
  • comments not sent by the author and/or posted by anonymous or robot accounts
  • repetitive posts copied and pasted by multiple users
  • unintelligible or irrelevant messages, and
  • messages that are far off-topic and any other message that the forum moderators feel will not add to the normal flow of discussion.

The views of participants do not represent the views of the Winnipeg Police Service. Users participate at their own risk and take full personal responsibility for their comments, their username and any additional information they provide.
