Winnipeg Sports Car Club Holds Winnipeg Police Service Endowment Fund Fundraiser
The Winnipeg Police Service partnered with Winnipeg Sports Car Club for the Autoslalom Charity Pro-Am event on September 13th at the St Andrews Airport.
The event raised $5,032 for the WPS Endowment Fund.
In its inaugural year, the Charity Pro-Am was an event for any car enthusiast or charity challenger alike. In this fast-paced team autoslalom competition, local business representatives teamed up with experienced auto racers to put down their fastest time for a spot on the 2014 Pro-Am Podium.
For this year’s event 6 teams battled it out for top honors. Constable Glenn Zirk and Constable Glen Kostyk of the Winnipeg Police Service each joined a team in the feature competition. In the end the top three honors went to:
1st Place - Team Auto Gallery of Winnipeg
Dan Gagnon & Rob Rurak in Auto Gallery's 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
2nd Place - Team Rob Tetrault Wealth Management Group
Rob Tetrault & Joe Premecz in Auto Gallery's 2013 Ford Mustang 5.0
3rd Place - Team Birchwood Automotive Group
