After celebrating a record season in 2020, our three municipal golf courses are gearing up for another busy season.

Since opening for the season earlier than usual on April 1, 2021, all courses were very busy on the days when the weather has been favourable. As of April 12, approximately 5,000 combined rounds of golf were played Crescent Drive, Kildonan Park and Windsor Park.

“We had multiple days where the tee sheet was completely full,” said Ben Fey, Golf Services General Manager.

Golf Services COVID-19 guidelines

Our courses are all following COVID-19 protocols and are well positioned to offer a fun and safe way to enjoy the great outdoors this season.

“Current public health measures are being followed by our staff to ensure golfers feel safe when they arrive, during their round, and as they depart our facilities,” said Fey.

In addition to providing a safe environment, our courses are looking better than ever.

“New tee boxes, bunkers, and drainage work – along with new maintenance techniques – have contributed to municipal courses being in great condition,” said Fey.

While Kildonan Park and Windsor Park golf courses offer challenges for everyone, our courses are welcoming to golfers of all skill levels.

“The courses allow for novice golfers to be comfortable and learn the different aspects of the game, with Crescent Drive being an appealing choice for those new to the game, as it is a shorter and more forgiving course,” said Fey, adding you can book your tee times online.

Kildonan Park Golf Course celebrating 100th anniversary

This year is extra special for Kildonan Park Golf Course. Established in 1921, the course is celebrating 100 years in operation. To celebrate its centennial, a series of events and promotions are planned, culminating in an anniversary event on July 28.

In advance of the anniversary celebration, residents are invited to share their memories or stories with us to help commemorate the course.

Golfers will also be able to take advantage of special pricing at the course. From July 28, 2021 and running until August 2, 2021, green fees at Kildonan Park Golf Course will be $19.21.
