Winnipeg library fines collected on Jan. 28, 2020 to go to charity

Fines will go directly to the Winnipeg Foundation's Literacy for Life Fund

If you have any overdue library materials books, consider returning them and paying your fines on January 28, 2020 and you will support literacy initiatives across Manitoba.

In recognition of Family Literacy Day, the Winnipeg Public Library will donate all fines and fees collected that day to the Winnipeg Foundation’s Literacy for Life Fund.

“The Literacy for Life Fund supports ongoing literacy initiatives in Manitoba,” said Ed Cuddy, Manager of Library Services.

The City of Winnipeg, Literacy Partners of Manitoba, and the Winnipeg Foundation established the fund in 2003. Since then, more than $35,000 has been donated by the Winnipeg Public Library.
