The City of Winnipeg has received international recognition for its 2018 budget.

“The award reflects the tremendous effort of our staff in Corporate Finance as well as all our departments, Special Operating Agencies and elected officials,” said Mike Ruta, the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Winnipeg.

In order to receive the budget award, the City had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.

The guidelines were assessed on how well the budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide as well as a communication device. The City of Winnipeg’s submission had to receive a proficient rating in all four categories.
