Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Simcoe Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:42 a.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a two-and-a-half-storey house in the 500 block of Simcoe Street.

When crews arrived to the scene, they found smoke coming from the house. They attacked the fire from the exterior of the house and once conditions improved they entered to complete extinguishment of the fire. The fire was declared under control at 6:05 a.m.

All occupants of the house safely self-evacuated. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
