On November 24, 2022, the Missing Persons Unit received information from St. Theresa Point in response to a previously issued media release which included a composite drawing of an unidentified male.
On December 5, 2022, the Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of the deceased, a 33-year-old male. All family notifications have been provided.
The Winnipeg Police Service would like to thank the public and the media for sharing this release which led to identifying this male.
As previously released:
On October 18, 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a male in medical distress located in the St. Norbert area and transported to a Winnipeg hospital. The Missing Persons Unit requested the public’s assistance to identify the male and notify his family. He was wearing a distinct Phoenix Coyotes jacket (as seen below).
Since this information was shared, no tips have been received regarding his identity.
As a result, we are now advising that the male has passed away. His death is not believed to be the result of foul play.
Investigators in the Missing Persons Unit have attempted to identify the deceased through numerous investigative avenues, including fingerprinting, missing person reports, and sharing information with community-based groups and law enforcement agencies.
