Aggravated Assault/Robbery – Arrest: C23-27730

Released: February 4, 2023 at 4:28 p.m.

On February 3, 2023, at 10:57 p.m., Central District General Patrol units, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, responded to the 600 block of Main Street for a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers located a 57-year-old male suffering from significant stabbing-related injuries and began to provide emergency medical care. The victim was later transported to a hospital in unstable condition and ultimately upgraded to stable condition.

Three suspects were taken into custody in the 500 block of Main Street. A knife was seized, and some of the victim’s property was recovered.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.

It is believed that a group had confronted the victim (previously unknown to them) without provocation when he was seriously assaulted and robbed of his belongings.

Two 20-year-old males of Winnipeg have been charged with:

- Aggravated Assault
- Robbery

A third 20-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

- Aggravated Assault
- Robbery
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order

The three were detained but are not being named at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
