Sexual Assaults – Arrest: C24-185123

Released: August 13, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.

On August 10, 2024, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service attended a hotel in downtown Winnipeg in response to a teenage female requesting help.

The female reported that an adult male had sexually assaulted her and a friend (also in her teens), and her friend was still in the room with the suspect.

When police arrived the male suspect fled out of the second-story window. He was taken into custody and subsequently transported to hospital in stable condition.

Both teenagers were transported to hospital in stable condition.

The Sex Crimes Unit took over the investigation. It was determined that on August 9, 2024 the accused approached the two teenagers and their adult friend in the 800 block of Main Street. The three females attended to a hotel suite with the male where he provided them with alcohol and drugs. The three females left later that night.

On August 10, at approximately 7:00 a.m., the accused again approached the two teenagers in the 800 block of Main Street and they attended back to the hotel where the accused provided more alcohol and drugs. While inside the suite he prevented them from leaving and they were physically and sexually assaulted.

One of the females managed to escape the room, and police were contacted.
