Impaired Driving/Collision involving Pedestrian – Arrest: C21-301334

Released: December 30, 2021 at 8 a.m.

On December 29, 2021, at 8:59 p.m., a North District General Patrol supervisor came across a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian (in a wheelchair) at Main Street and Inkster Boulevard.

The officer tended to the injured pedestrian, a female in her 50’s, and other police units arrived soon after. The vehicle driver had remained at the scene and was placed under arrest for impaired driving.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where she remains but has been stabilized.

A 46-year-old male of St. Andrews is facing charges of:

- Operation of a Conveyance CBH While Impaired to Any Degree by BAC or Drug or a Combination of Both
- Fail or Refuse to Comply with Demand

He was released on an Appearance Notice (as mandated by the Criminal Code).
