On December 27, 2019, at approximately 11:35 a.m., a Guns & Gangs unit was patrolling the area of Aberdeen Avenue and Aikins Street when they observed an occupied vehicle with what appeared to be fresh damage and a dealer licence plate parked on the wrong side of the road.
A traffic stop was conducted, and both occupants were placed under arrest when it was determined the vehicle was likely stolen. A .22 calibre rifle was observed on the floor of the vehicle and 1.55 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $80) was found.
It was later confirmed that the vehicle was stolen and had been taken from the Spence area on December 18, 2019. The dealer licence place was stolen from the St. Matthews area between December 23 and 24, 2019.
