Winnipeg youth organizations get $27K boost
Two local organizations received a funding boost following the State of the City address.
Each year, the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce selects charities to receive 50% of the luncheon proceeds. This year, Ka Ni Kanichihk and Resource Assistance for Youth (RaY) each received $8,500. Albert El Tassi donated another $5,000 to each organization bringing to tally to $27,000!
Mayor Sam Katz stated: "I'm pleased that our partnership with the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce means we can assist charities in providing valuable assistance to Aboriginal and young people... Both Ka Ni Kanichihk and RaY take great care to ensure their services match the needs of the people they serve."
