Register your production with the Film Office

For over 25 years, The City of Winnipeg, Film Office has been providing exceptional support to film industries locally, nationally and internationally. Our Winnipeg office will assist your film project with all aspects of logistical coordination offering intricate concierge services in networking, connecting and continuing to open doors for all required liaising with City of Winnipeg Departments.

If you are filming on public land, or in community centres, arenas, parks or libraries, you must register your production with the film office,  provide required documents listed below and the appropriate insurance. For smaller productions with limited funds, the Winnipeg Film Group offers reduced rate insurance.

Film Coordination Fees

Effective June 1, 2023 Winnipeg City Council has adopted a Film Coordination Fee Schedule based upon each production's value.

The Film Coordination Fee is payable in addition to any other fees that may be applicable to your production such as Winnipeg Parking Authority fees, Emergency Medical personnel (Ambulance, etc), or Winnipeg Police Service Special Duty Officers.

As of June 1, 2023 during your film registration you will be able to select your film's tier to determine the required fee for project prior to being issued your Control Code, specific to your project for permitting process.

Feature Films - Tier 1 $2,500
Feature Films - Tier 2 $2,000
Feature Films - Tier 3 $1,500
Feature Films - Tier 4 $1,000
Feature Films - Tier 5 $500
Movies of the Week & Low Budget Series - Tier 1 $1,250
Movies of the Week & Low Budget Series - Tier 2 $1,000
Movies of the Week & Low Budget Series - Tier 3 $750
Movies of the Week & Low Budget Series - Tier 4 $500
Movies of the Week & Low Budget Series - Tier 5 $250

Payment options

Invoices will be emailed to the Location Manager. Payment can be made by mail or in person.

Mail a cheque or money order payable to the City of Winnipeg together with a printed copy of your invoice to:
