2025 Citizen Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Council has delegated the responsibility for the management and administration of certain public services to autonomous bodies.

These Boards and Commissions are appointed in whole or in part by Council and have such authority as is delegated to them by the relevant bylaws of Council or by Act of the Legislature. Most of these Boards and Commissions include members of the public, as well as members of Council.

Every September, the City Clerk's Department initiates an annual selection process to fill member positions to Boards and Commissions on which there are imminent or existing vacancies. Canadian citizens and permanent residents who reside in Winnipeg and are 18 years of age or older on the date of their application are eligible to apply for these volunteer positions.
