Donation Programs

If you would like to honour a loved one or support our efforts to maintain the beauty of Winnipeg's Municipal Cemeteries, we offer several ways to make a donation and create meaningful memorials. Please see the variety of donations options, below.

Memorial Benches   Memorial Trees   Flowerbeds

Benches, trees and flowerbeds in Municipal Cemeteries can be memorialized with a choice of plaques bearing your personal dedication message.

Our memorial benches are made of timber slats and concrete supports and are built to last for many years.

Memorial Bench Donation Form

Memorial Trees
We plant 60-70mm caliper basket stock to help ensure a healthy tree and guarantee replacement of the tree if it does not flourish within two years of planting. Contact us for a list of the types of trees available for planting.

Memorial Flowerbeds
Memorial flowerbeds consist of shrubs and perennials, selected jointly by the donor and the Cemeteries Branch.

The location for the bench, tree or flowerbed is selected in co-operation with the donor. However, the Cemeteries Branch reserves the right to make the final location decision.

Perpetual Maintenance Reserve Fund Donations
You may donate to the Perpetual Maintenance Reserve Fund to help with the cost of maintenance of the cemetery grounds. The donation can be directed to a specific cemetery to be invested in that cemetery's fund.

General Donations
If you have an idea for a donation or would like to discuss making a general donation to the maintenance and improvement of any of the three Municipal Cemeteries, contact our Customer Service Advisors to discuss your idea.

Tax Deductions
All donations are tax deductible (with the exception of the cost of memorialization). You will receive a tax receipt for the full amount paid at the end of the tax year.

How to Arrange a Donation:
To arrange a donation or memorialization, print and complete the relevant form and then mail it along with your payment to:

You can visit the Cemeteries Administration Office at Brookside Cemetery, Monday to Friday between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and our Customer Service Advisors will assist you.
