Winnipeg, MB - The August long weekend operating hours for civic facilities, and schedules for civic services, are as follows:
City of Winnipeg Offices:
All Civic Offices are closed on Monday, August 3, 2009.
No Recycling/Garbage Collection on Monday, August 3, 2009
· There will be no recycling or garbage collection on Monday, August 3, 2009. Collection will resume on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 – Day 2 on the five-day cycle.
· Recycling and garbage collection will continue as normally scheduled.

All Municipal courses are open from dawn to dusk over the long weekend. Call now to book your tee times.
The grounds of the three City-owned cemeteries - Brookside Cemetery, St. Vital Cemetery and Transcona Cemetery - are open for visitation throughout the long weekend, from dawn to dusk.
All Libraries are closed Sunday, August 2, 2009 and Monday, August 3, 2009. Regular hours are in effect for the Millennium, St. Boniface, and Sir. William Stephenson branches on Saturday, August 1 (10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
Assiniboine Park Zoo:
Open 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. daily.
Assiniboine Park Conservatory:
Open 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009.
Open 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, and Monday, August 3.
All indoor pools are closed on Monday, August 3, 2009, except at the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex. The pool at the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on August 3.
Regular hours are in effect for all indoor pools on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2009.
WEATHER PERMITTING All outdoor pools will be open. Hours vary; however, most outdoor pools are open 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
WEATHER PERMITTING, the following 17 wading pools will be open on Monday, August 3, 2009: Amherst Park, Brock Cordova Park, Central Park, Dakota Water Park, Elmwood Park, J.H. Bruns Park, John M. King, Home Playground, Keenleyside Park, Kildonan Park, McKittrick Park, Norquay Community Club, Northwood Community Club, Pascoe Park, Pirates Park, Vimy Ridge Park, and Westdale Wading Pool. Hours vary; however, most wading pools are open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wading pools will be open at their regularly scheduled times on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2009.
Five unsupervised spray pads are open over the long weekend, at the following locations: Fort Rouge Park, Lindenwoods Community Centre, Provencher Park, River Heights Community Centre, and St. Norbert Community Centre. Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
All Leisure Centres are closed on Monday, August 3, 2009. Regular hours are in effect on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2009.
Animal Services Agency:
The Animal Services Agency is closed, Monday, August 3, 2009. Animal Services will be open for normal weekend operating hours on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2009. (12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.)
