Recycling Program for Community Centres and Recreation Facilities Begins Today  
WINNIPEG - December 17, 2001 - Today marks the first day of collection for the City of Winnipeg's new recycling program for community centres and recreation facilities. Major City recreation facilities along with 71 community centres are now eligible for recycling services. Mayor Glen Murray says, "City Council is dedicated to ensuring residents have the opportunity to recycle both at home and in the community.

Mayor Supports Sikh Community  
WINNIPEG - December 17, 2001 -  Mayor Glen Murray, on behalf of his colleagues on City Council, today signed a ceremonial deed gifting a parcel of land to the Sikh community to assist their efforts in constructing a new cultural and seniors centre.
