EPC Seeking Public Input Into Water Treatment Plant Option
September 15, 1999 - The City of Winnipeg's Executive Policy Committee (EPC) is holding two public meetings October 21 and 28 to discuss the need to build a water treatment plant. Councillor Peter De Smedt, who heads up the Standing Policy Committee on Public Works, will chair the meetings.

High River Levels Close Riverwalk
September 10, 1999 - The city's riverwalk along the Assiniboine River is closed due to rising river levels which are expected to submerge the walk as early as tonight. Public boat launch docks at Maple Grove and St. Vital parks have been temporarily removed to avoid damage. The dock at the North Perimeter site remains in place and will be monitored closely in the coming days.
