Thursday's Provincial Budget
April 28, 1999 - A number of journalists have requested reaction to the provincial budget Thursday, April 29th. Mayor Glen Murray will be in transit. He leaves Thursday to attend the Big City Mayors Conference in Saskatoon and does not return to Winnipeg until Sunday.
CentreVenture: A New Approach to Downtown Revitalization
April 26, 1999 - The Mayor and the Chief Administrative Officer released a report today which would change the way the City does business in the downtown. The report recommends creation of a new downtown development corporation - CentreVenture - to provide entrepreneurial leadership in the resurgence of the downtown.
Winnipeg Book Award
April 20, 1999 - Mayor Glen Murray, in collaboration with the Winnipeg Arts Advisory Council, is pleased to invite arts and entertainment reporters and interested journalists to a press conference on Thursday. Details of a new Winnipeg Book Award will be released.
Mayor Opens City Hall to Pan Am Visitors
April 15, 1999 - City Hall will be transformed into Winnipeg House during the Pan American Games, Mayor Glen Murray announced today. "We want to show visitors from around the world that they are welcome," said Mayor Murray. "We plan to create an atmosphere at city hall that is fun for people to drop in and visit..."
Transcona Kinsmen Centennial Pool Closed
April 14, 1999 - The Transcona Kinsmen Centennial Pool, 1011 Wabasha Street is closed until approximately May 2, to allow for repairs to the building ceiling. The closure occurred after workers discovered portions of ceiling tile in the pool upon their arrival for work yesterday morning.
City of Winnipeg Releases Inaugural Report on Performance
