Off-leash dog area locations

The following locations have been selected as off-leash dog areas in Winnipeg parks and public spaces.

All sites are open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. or as posted at the site. There is no lighting at these locations unless indicated.

Bourkevale Park

100 Ferry Rd
Off-leash dog area south of dike along riverbank

Charleswood Dog Park

3890 Haney St
Former golf course.
Multi-use park includes skiers, snowshoers, walkers, runners, cyclists

Downtown Dog Park

260 Assiniboine Ave
Fully-fenced, 0.12 hectare off-leash area features artificial turf, lights, signage, park furniture for people, waste receptacle, bottle-refill fountain operational in summer

Kil-Cona Park

1229 Springfield Rd
Parking available off McIvor Entrance. Off-leash area located east of parking lot on hill, with natural boundary of water to the north, east and south. If you cross the bridge or walk west of the hill, dogs need to be leashed. Athletic fields and Service Yard access road off limits to all dogs, leashed or unleashed

Kings Park

198 King’s Drive
Off-leash area north east of retention pond.
Multi-use park includes skiers, snowshoers, walkers, runners, cyclists

Little Mountain Park

64093 Klimpke Rd, RM of Rosser
Large open area used for off-leash located at the north/west corner of park at Klimpke Rd. & Farmer Ave. Parking available during summer at Klimpke Road lot, west side of park. Multi-use park includes skiers, snowshoers, walkers, runners, cyclists

Maple Grove Park

100 Frobisher Rd
Fenced in area for puppies. Entrance to off-leash area located by Fields for Fido kiosk. Please use only the area directly north of the kiosk and stay within the pathway. Multi-use park includes rugby/ soccer/ football players, skiers, snowshoers, walkers, runners, cyclists

Mazenod Park /Retention Pond

130 Mazenod Rd
Area surrounding retention pond bounded by Mazenod Rd, Camiel Sys St & Beghin St

Devonshire Village Dog Park (at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park)

70 Cal Gardner Dr

Sturgeon Rd & Silver Ave Off-leash dog area

Northeast area

Westview Park

1 Midland St
Located at Midland & Saskatchewan Ave. Entire park is off-leash area. Multi-use park includes skiers, snowshoers, walkers, runners, cyclists

Woodsworth Park

1850 Hekla Ave
Turn west on Hekla off Keewatin St. Area north of parking lot

Brenda Leipsic Dog Park

100 Hurst Wy

Community centre sites

Community-centre run, seasonal off-leash dog areas within off-season hockey rinks. Open April through November. For seasonal hours and any planned closures or private bookings, please contact the community centre.
