Advice and permit information for the construction of outdoor private swimming pools (in-ground & above-ground) as well as hot tubs and fish ponds

To apply for your permit please visit the Zoning and Permits Office at Unit 31 – 30 Fort Street.

Swimming Pools, Spas & Hot Tubs
A 16-page booklet outlining the construction requirements and building permit application and inspections process for swimming pools. (Examples of drawings and site plan is available in brochure)

Wood Decks
A 24-page booklet outlining the zoning and construction requirements for construction of open, uncovered decks on residential buildings, including FAQ's, documents required, zoning, and structural specifications.

Swimming Pools Include:

  • Inground Pools
  • Above ground Pools
  • Hot tubs
  • Fish ponds, etc.

Application Requirements:

  • Copy of a Surveyor’s Building Location Certificate OR Detailed Site Plan (may by acceptable) showing all property dimensions, location of all buildings, and the location and size of the proposed pool or hot tub.
  • Completed Application Form
  • Completed Owner Statement

The permit application requires all of the information shown on the application form and must be submitted in-person to Zoning and Permits Office. Your application visit will take less time if you complete the Application Form in advance.
