City of Winnipeg buildings now scent sensitive

Residents and employees encouraged to refrain from using scented products

The City of Winnipeg is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and respectful workplace for employees as well as the residence they serve.

Since scents can have the potential to impact a person 's health and comfort, all City of Winnipeg buildings will be become scent sensitive workplaces starting June 3, 2019.

Residents and employees are encouraged to refrain from using personal scented products. The City recognizes that the elimination of scents in the workplace is not possible given the large scope and variety of business conducted on a daily basis.

Cultural ceremonies are exempt as well as worksites requiring the use of specialized products.

The City of Winnipeg thanks residents for their understanding.
