Encouraging Winnipeggers to retrofit their plumbing is an important part of our water conservation program. It's amazing how much water can be saved by installing water conservation devices. Winnipeg residents can order low-cost kits from us that are easy to install, simple to use and help save enough water to pay for themselves in approximately six months after installation.
The kits come complete with everything you and your family need to start saving both water and money around your house:
- replacement low-flow shower heads that save 40-50% of water flow over conventional showerheads, while lowering water heating costs
- bathroom and kitchen tap aerators that reduce water flow
- toilet retrofit devices that reduce water flushed by 20-50%
- toilet dye tablets to help spot a silent and costly toilet leak
