Leaf it with us drop-off depots – Bagged yard waste / leaves only

New summer yard waste depots now open in the northwest area
You can recycle your summer yard waste by dropping it off at three new leaf it with us depots. The depots accept leaves, lawn thatch, grass clippings, tree clippings, small branches, plants, flowers, and other garden material. We'll compost it into a reusable soil-like material, which we use to landscape finished landfill areas.

The following new depot locations are open seven days a week, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.:

  • Vimy Arena
    Hamilton Avenue at Vimy Road (open until September 30)
  • St. James Civic Centre
    2055 Ness Avenue (open until November 15, weather permitting)
  • Fire Hall #17
    1501 Church Avenue (open until November 15, weather permitting)

Brady Road Landfill –
Drop-off of bagged or loose yard waste / leaves (year-round)

  • Tipping fees do not apply to loads of only bagged or loose yard waste, including leaves and branches less than 100 millimetres (4 inches) in diameter. However, should any load contain other materials, then fees will be applied on the entire load. Please use lane one when entering the landfill and staff will direct you to the leaf it with us organic yard waste compost drop off area across the road from the scale.
  • Open Monday to Friday - 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
  • Brady Road Landfill is located on Brady Road, 4 kilometres west of Pembina Highway, south of the Perimeter Highway
