Vehicles for Hire

Advisory Committee

The City recognizes the need for ongoing dialogue to ensure vehicles for hire issues are dealt with in a manner most relevant to passengers and those working in the industry. A Vehicles for Hire Advisory Committee was established to advise the Winnipeg Parking Authority on community-based issues, industry-based issued, city-wide priorities and other matters related to Vehicles for Hire operation in Winnipeg. Advisory committee members were selected to represent key perspectives and interests related to the industry.

The Vehicles for Hire Advisory Committee will be established to:

  • Advise the Winnipeg Parking Authority on community-based issues and industry-based issues, city-wide priorities and other matters related to vehicles for hire operations in Winnipeg including, but not limited to safety and accessibility; and,
  • Provide a direct line of communication between those using and operating vehicles for hire and those regulating vehicles for hire in Winnipeg.

Applications for the advisory committee were accepted from May 3 to June 1, 2018. Thank you to those who submitted an application. The first meeting took place in July 2018. The Vehicles for Hire Advisory Committee meets approximately every two months to discuss issues related to the industry and provide their input to the Winnipeg Parking Authority.
