We are currently accepting applications for Instructor Guard positions for various pools throughout the city to establish an eligibility list to fill future vacancies. Complete our application process between 8:30am - 4:00pm at Winnipeg City Hall, 510 Main Street, Main Floor - Administration Building.

Qualifications:
- 16 years of age
- National Lifeguard Award (NLS-Core and Pool)
- Lifesaving and First Aid Instructor Certificate (LSI)
- Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate (WSI)
- Standard First Aid Certificate/CPR C (St John Ambulance, Red Cross, Criti-Care, or Aquatic Emergency Care)
- CPR Level C Certificate (Renewed annually)
Assets:
- Manitoba Fitness Council certifications for Group; Resistance; Older Adults; Aqua Fitness
- NCCP certification for Water Polo; Synchronized Swimming; Diving

Step 1) Complete and submit on-line application form www.winnipeg.ca/hr then wait a minimum of one business day before proceeding to step 2.

Step 2) Arrive in-person at City Hall, 510 Main Street, Main Floor - Administration Building to complete full application. Please provide us with photocopies of all current and valid certifications, complete additional forms and participate in our pre-screening interview and pool testing (as outlined directly below).

All applicants must successfully complete:
- City of Winnipeg Pool Test as part of final selection process

Important Notes:
- On-line applicants must finalize application process in-person at City Hall
- All required certificates must be current and valid - if not current and valid, application will not be considered

- The City of Winnipeg offers Standard First Aid Level "C" CPR and recertification courses

- Only those selected for further interview and pool testing will be contacted
- Successful applicants required to provide current and valid Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) at own expense
