Weather permitting, Spring clean-up of streets and sidewalks continues to mid-May each year.
Watch for temporary "No Parking" signs and park elsewhere so our streets can be cleaned efficiently.
Daytime sweeping –
- Parking prohibited from 09:00 to 17:00
- Signs will be placed by 21:00 the previous evening
Evening sweeping –
- Parking prohibited from 22:00 to 07:00
- Signs will be placed by 16:00 that day
Has your vehicle been towed for Spring Cleaning?
If you parked on a street that was signed to be cleaned PRIOR to a temporary “No Parking” sign being placed, contact 311 with your licence plate number for the location of where it was towed to.
If you parked your vehicle on the street AFTER the placement of temporary "No Parking" signs, please contact 311 for the location of your vehicle.
When is my street being cleaned?
Spring clean-up takes approximately 6 weeks to complete, depending on the weather.
What You Can Do To Aid Spring Clean Up
The public is encouraged not to rake lawn clippings or debris onto roadways. Lawn clippings should be bagged and put out with your regular garbage, composted, or grasscycled. Debris should go with your regular garbage.
Business owners and individuals should refrain from placing advertising signs on boulevards and medians as these impede cleanup activities and summer maintenance like grass mowing. Placing temporary signs on city’s rights-of-way is a public offense.
Excessive Sand & Gravel on Boulevards
Parks is no longer taking requests for excessive sand and gravel on boulevards, we are now into our summer mowing operations for 2011.
