(1) The rates for these improvements are estimated only. Actual assessments will be based on the average actual costs for similar improvements constructed in the same year. All other rates are fixed by by-law and represent the actual assessable rates.

(2) The estimated rates reflect the City subsidizing 50% of the estimated costs.

(3) Lighting rates are subject to irregular project cost variation. An advertised rate will be supported by a project specific estimate from Manitoba Hydro. Assessments will be based on the actual costs.

Example:

What is the estimated cost to construct a 14' x 6" concrete lane pavement as a Local Improvement for a lot with 50' of frontage?

  • 50' x $455/ft = $22,750.00 lump sum payment, or
  • 50' x $38.07/ft = $1,903.50 per year for 20 years.

What is the estimated subsidized cost to construct a 14' x 5" asphaltic concrete lane pavement as a Local Improvement for a lot with 50' of frontage?

  • 50' x $125/ft = $6,250.00 lump sum payment, or
  • 50' x $16.39/ft = $819.50 per year for 10 years.
