Kilkenny Forest 2
Location Site Description
North of Brentwood, South of Perimeter Hwy., This site is classified as riverbottom forest habitat with
West of St. Mary's Rd. some oak forest habitat on the terrace. The site has a
Site Name Site # high density of trees and oak trees larger than those in

any other riverbottom forest site. There was some
Kilkenny Forest 2 657 disturbance noted at the time of inventory but only a few

weed species. Disturbance included the construction of

fire pits, the cutting down of trees for firewood, and the

maintenance of winding paths throughout the core of the

site. But the site is relatively large, allowing it to maintain

some species diversity despite the degree of unnatural

disturbances. However, overall species richness in the

site is low.
