Native Plant Gardening

Gardening for wildlife is an excellent way to spend some time outdoors and give nature a helping hand at the same time. Wildflower gardening attracts birds and butterflies providing food and shelter. Urban and agricultural development has taken up the majority of land in our region where wildflowers used to grow. By gardening with native Manitoba plants you are helping to ensure that they survive and that our province maintains it's natural diversity and heritage. The book Naturescape Manitoba is an excellent source of information!

Each year the Living Prairie Museum conducts wildflower gardening workshops and holds plant and seed sales. Check our their web site for more information.
