Snow Removal

Snow ClearingDepending upon the weather, the Snow Clearing and Ice Control program commences in November and continues until April.

Snow Clearing and Ice Control activities include:

  • Snow Clearing - streets, lanes and sidewalks
  • Snow Disposal - includes the clearing of bus stops and high piles
  • Ice Control with sand and deicers
  • Thawing catch basins and culverts and clearing ditches

The City's Snow Clearing Policy describes the procedures for the snow and ice control activities.

Has your vehicle been towed because of Snow Clearing operations?

If your vehicle was parked on a street prior to the Public Works Department placing the temporary "No Parking" signs and has been towed away, please check the next street over and/or around the corner for your vehicle. You can contact 311 for additional assistance.

If you parked your vehicle on the street after the Public Works Department placed the temporary "No Parking" signs, please contact 311 for the location of your vehicle.
