Mayor Presents Business Improvement Zones Awards

West Broadway B.I.Z.

West Broadway BIZ AwardThe award recipient from the West Broadway BIZ is Tammy Klos of the Good Food Club in West Broadway.

Tammy has been coordinating the Good Food Club in the West Broadway area for just over 2 years.

The Good Food Club is an award winning community development program in which its members can earn sweat equity and participate at the level they choose, make friends, learn new skills and participate in healthy living.

She has dedicated many hours to ensuring food security is met in the West Broadway area through the many programs offered to the community.

Tammy organizes monthly cafe's to provide healthy dinners at a low cost, veggie van markets in the summer months selling fresh, locally grown vegetables from the Wiens farm and the urban agriculture site located at Klinic on Broadway.  She spends many hours preparing monthly food boxes to ensure the people of the community have access to fresh food on a regular basis throughout the winter months.

She is passionate about people and ensures the people of the community not only have access to fresh food but are empowered by having the opportunity to get involved and make a difference in their lives and their community.

The relationship she has fostered with the Wiens farm has been cultivated by her genuine care for the people of West Broadway and her belief in the program. Tammy is a natural leader and has the ability to make people from all walks of life feel comfortable and welcome.  West Broadway and the BIZ are lucky to have her working in the neighborhood.

Congratulations Tammy!
