Provencher Boulevard B.I.Z.

The ultimate goal of the St. Boniface area economic development, community organizations and the BIZ have been to create and encourage growth in St. Boniface and the Provencher Blvd. as a tourist destination.
This includes attracting key hospitality and retail businesses to the area, and promoting the distinct character of the boulevard and neighbourhood in building design and renovations, and adding to the aesthetics and pedestrian friendly nature of street amenities.
Last year the neighbourhood was a step closer to realizing these dreams with the opening of the much heralded sculpture gardens on the grounds of the old St. Boniface City Hall. It took many years and the hard work to coordinate the funding and garner the support of the various partners, including the City of Winnipeg, the Province of Manitoba and the Government of Canada. Now these beautiful gardens stand as a testament to this hard work, the talent of numerous visual artists, and the dreams of a community for an artistic showcase of international calibre.
So it is with great pleasure that La Maison des Artistes receive this year’s Mayor’s BIZ Award for the Provencher Blvd BIZ, for their commitment to the to the beautification of the boulevard, as well as their continued support of BIZ endeavours.
