Corydon Avenue B.I.Z.
This year the award recipient from the Corydon Ave BIZ is Roberta Joy Holland.
Roberta is 69 years young, a retired nurse keeping active in the community by volunteering for the past 7 years at the Siloam Mission, once a week, in their kitchen.
She keeps physically active as a competitive swimmer for the Masters Swimming Club and she walks long distances every Monday and Wednesday morning.
But this was not enough for Roberta; she approached the Corydon Ave BIZ wanting to help keep her favourite Avenue clean. Roberta was hired in 2006 and to this day she is the first person to start spring clean-up and the last person to quit before the snow falls.
Roberta comes to work ready to clean, sweep, remove posters, pick up litter, and there is no task she will not tackle. She is simply the best seasonal employee the Corydon Avenue BIZ has ever hired.
She greets everyone in her path with her great big smile and her constant positive attitude. It’s a pleasure and an inspiration to watch her at work, pink earphone in her ears, playing her favourite music, her tools trolley at hand and a great big smile for everyone, her work motto is: “No Litter To Be Left Behind”.
Roberta is here today, the recipient of this prestigious award, because she is a wonderful person with exceptional work ethics, a great disposition and because she truly is a role model.
Congratulations Roberta!
