Foreign Credentials

For individuals with foreign credentials requiring the equivalent of a Manitoba Grade 12, an Academic Credentials Assessment must be completed.

Academic Credentials Assessment Service (ACAS) evaluates both secondary and post-secondary education of people educated outside of Canada and compares it to the educational standards in Manitoba. To be eligible for an Academic Credentials Assessment, clients must be living in Manitoba. There is no charge for this service. Upon completion of an assessment, an Academic Credentials Report is issued to the client.

The Academic Credentials Report (ACR) is advisory in nature and is designed to support and facilitate hiring or admission decisions made by employers, occupational regulatory bodies, and educational institutions. Assessments are of formalized instruction only and do not encompass evaluations of competence, work experience, or prior learning.

To schedule an appointment for an Academic Credentials Assessment, individuals must contact the Manitoba Labour and Immigration office. Individuals are encouraged to schedule an appointment as early as possible as the length of time required to meet with a client, complete an assessment, and process an Academic Credentials Report varies from 6 to 8 weeks.

Every attempt will be made to provide a report for a specified application deadline, should the current wait time and processing period extend beyond that date.
