Civilian Benefits
The following briefly highlights the many benefits a civilian employee will receive once they become a member of the Winnipeg Police Service:
- Shift premium for those working the night or evening shift of 95 cents per hour.
- Paid overtime.
- Dental Plan coverage.
- Vision Care coverage.
- 105 hours of sick leave per year, accumulative for a 35 hour worker.
- 120 hours of sick leave per year, accumulative for a 40 hour worker.
Vacation Leave for a 35 hour worker:
- 105 hours after one year of continuous service.
- 140 hours after completion of five years service.
- 175 hours after completion of 13 years service.
- 210 hours after completion of 21 years service.
Vacation Leave for a 40 hour worker:
- 120 hours after one year of continuous service.
- 160 hours after completion of five years service.
- 200 hours after completion of 13 years service.
- 240 hours after completion of 21 years service.
