North End Hockey Program Equipment
& Fundraising Drive Kicks Off

This winter, 115 young people from Winnipeg’s North End hope to lace up their skates and join Winnipeg’s larger hockey community through the new North End Hockey Program (NEHP).

The program is a community effort designed to remove the barriers to playing hockey many North End children and their families face so that these young people can enjoy the sense of community, sportsmanship and camaraderie the game of hockey can bring to their lives.

You can help by donating any gently used hockey equipment or by making a tax deductible donation to the program.

Equipment donations can be made on an ongoing basis at the following locations:

  • River Heights Community Centre - 1370 Grosvenor Ave. (at Oak St.)
  • Allard Arena - 80 Allard Avenue
  • Gateway Recreation Centre - 1717 Gateway Rd. Winnipeg

Cash donations can be made by going to www.ndinawe.ca and clicking on the donation link to CanadaHelps.org .

The North End Hockey Program is a partnership between Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad (Ndinawe), Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre (Ma Mawi), North End Community Renewal Corporation (NECRC), Winnipeg Police Service (Division 13 - Community Support Unit) and the Winnipeg Police Patrolmen Hockey Club who are working together to make hockey a reality for North End children/youth and their families. The positive impacts are endless not only for the North End but other communities in Winnipeg through a shared love of hockey.
