The Winnipeg Police Service River Patrol Unit wishes to remind all snowmobilers and ATV operators that City of Winnipeg Vehicles By-Law No. 6726/95 prohibits the operation of off-road vehicles on all property owned, possessed or controlled by the City of Winnipeg.

Off-Road vehicles are permitted to be operated in the following City areas:

  1. North of PTH 101 (North Perimeter)
  2. West of Surgeon Road and north of Saskatchewan Avenue
  3. West of PTH 100 (West Perimeter)
  4. South of the Harte Subdivision Railway and west of McCreary Rd.
  5. South of PTH 100 (South Perimeter)
  6. East of PTH 101 (East Perimeter)

The Frozen Waterways By-Law No. 6581/95 prohibits the use of all vehicles on the frozen surface of any waterway within the City of Winnipeg. This includes the Red, Assiniboine, LaSalle and Seine Rivers, their tributaries and all retention ponds.
