Winnipeg Police Service Media Release

Weapons Arrest

On May 30th, 2008, shortly after 4:00 P.M., a 51 year old male victim was in the area of Ellice Avenue and McMicken Street when he became involved in a verbal argument with a 23 year old male suspect. As the victim walked away the suspect made verbal threats and pointed a firearm at the victim. The suspect then fled on foot and police were called.

Members of the Winnipeg Police Service arrested the suspect in the area of Central Park where he was found to be in possession of a firearm, a knife, and a small quantity of crack cocaine.

Irvin William PASHE, 23 years, of Winnipeg has been charged with:

Point Firearm
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Ammunition
Possession of Firearm, etc, while Prohibited X 2
Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
Carrying concealed weapon
Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
Possessing controlled drug or substance – Cocaine

He has been detained in custody.

Stabbing

On May 31st, 2008, shortly before 11:30 A.M., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to an address in the 200 block of Furby Street in regards to a male possibly stabbed.

A 54 year old male with injuries to his upper body was located and conveyed to hospital in stable condition where he was treated and released.

The victim has declined the assistance of the Winnipeg Police Service.
